WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position works in a standard office environment with extended use of the computer/keyboarding and sitting as well as use of other office equipment such as phone and copier. This position may spend time in the manufacturing environment and may be exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
Salary Range;
72,000-90,000 annually

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct and manage all process safety improvement and training to drive cultural change.
- Support management's efforts to ensure compliance with Safety and Training Program expectations by identifying and informing management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
- Lead Urban Remedy's Safety Committee including the agenda, meeting minutes, coordinated walkthroughs, and root cause analysis.
- Work with FSQA, Human Resources, and Management to track and report monthly, quarterly, and yearly training program completion with accurate, up to date training records.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (Alchemy) to delivery each job/topic training (classroom, hands-on on the job training, simulations, team exercises, mentoring, videos, and computer-based training).
- Assist company with the completion of administrative programs for the preparation, distribution and maintenance of written programs, policies, procedures, and records such as SDS, lockout/tag out procedures (LOTO) and OSHA reporting.
- Manage workers compensation and insurance related incidents.
- Maintain compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Understanding of company GMPs requirements and responsible for assuring that all employees are aware and execute as trained.
- Evaluate plant safety programs and make recommendations to improve safety practices.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis).
- Review process-operating procedures and provide input for safety and health considerations.
- Support and lead continuous improvement efforts as it pertains to Safety and Training by tracking and reporting monthly Safety scorecard requirements.
- Partners with department managers to assist in the creation of training documents that meet the needs of the department.
- Assist company with reviewing injury/illness and near-miss incident investigation reports and continuance as necessary.
- Ensure all departments support and comply with environmental initiatives & certifications.
- Train production staff in procedures such as waste sorting & sustainability efforts.
- Assist with the following FSQA programs: Chemical Program, Food defense and Food Fraud.
- Demonstrates engagement in making the world a better place through sustainable business practices and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- As a member of various food safety teams, execute duties as required.
- Assume additional responsibilities & duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Position-Specific Skills
- Demonstrates broad knowledge of federal and state safety guidelines in a workplace and has knowledge of legal repercussions of workplace accidents.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations in manufacturing.
- Aptitude and acumen for researching and monitoring new/current safety compliance laws and trends to continuously improve systems and processes.
- Proven success in identifying and executing process improvements and training to drive cultural change.
- A passion and commitment to provide creative and innovative tools to help develop employee skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to make effective presentations; facilitate small-group problem solving; provide one-on-one training; give and receive constructive feedback; and work effectively with teams.
- Willingness to flex work schedule to accommodate training for shift employees.
Technical Skills Required
- Project management skills: ability to organize priorities and effectively manage projects.
- Effective writing skills, oral comprehension and expression, speech clarity, and reading comprehension.
- Strong analytical, organizational, attention to details, decision, and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual English/ Spanish is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the safety and health programs, policies, risk identification and control strategies to include auditing processes (OSHA or equivalent guideline related) preferred.
- Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education/Training Required
- Bachelor's degree in safety or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing facility.
- Completion of OSHA 300 course preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position works in a standard office environment with extended use of the computer/keyboarding and sitting as well as use of other office equipment such as phone and copier. This position may spend time in the manufacturing environment and may be exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
- This position spends long periods of time sitting while working on a computer or standing while filing employee personnel records.
