The OSC Communications and Operations Manager is a part time role that oversees an outstanding and consistent Communications and brand strategy across multiple parts of OSC. This person will work closely with the Membership Director and Packaging Collaborative Director on developing fantastic communications to optimize the experience of our members and broader community, as well as amplify OSC’s brand identity and overall impact in the industry.  The position will also manage a number of key project areas for our member community, including coordinating our JEDI Jumpstart and Women’s Circle programs, and various working groups.  This role requires a versatile individual with experience overseeing communications strategy and capable of managing projects, communication systems, and brand messaging.  This person will also support the ED in our annual strategic planning  and track OKR and quarterly check-ins  with the team.  This position provides the connection and oversight across all of our different areas of work to ensure cohesion of our work. The person will look for ways to continue to improve our internal communications, our team work together, and our external facing communications.  The position will report to the Executive Director and work closely with OSC’s Director of Membership and Packaging Collaborative Director.  


This position is remote.  However, will require travel to the Bay area and other areas for team meetings and offsites approximately 10% of time.  


Key Responsibilities
Communications (40% of time)
  • Lead development and execution of organizational communications strategy in partnership with Executive Director and OSC team and partners
  • Manage communications calendar and content, including monthly newsletters, blog postings, socials content, etc., across all digital channels (i.e. LinkedIn, Instagram etc.)
  • Manage brand look and feel, ensuring consistency across internal and external assets including presentations, digital and printed media, website, and more for team
  • Comfort with Canva, and Powerpoint Design support to ensure consistent and excellent design and communications
  • Maintain and optimize organizational websites and online platforms
Operational Management and Administration (40% of time)
  • Coordinate internal communications and team meetings
  • Manage organizational tools and platforms, including  Salesforce, Mailchimp, and MONDAY, Google Admin, WordPress, Forj.etc. This includes promoting consistent use of tools by OSC team and contractors for streamlined communications and project coordination.
  • Provide support for ED in the area of Board reporting, strategic planning and accounting. 
  • Manage OKR reporting with team
  • Maintain and organize programs such as the Women's Circle with our facilitators 
  • Coordinate J.E.D.I programming, including our Jumpstart online program.
  • Support in planning and executing industry events and webinars with OSC Membership Director and Packaging Director as needed.
Stakeholder Relations and Fundraising (20% of time)
  • Support fundraising outreach efforts, including donor letters, grant research and application with ED and partners
  • Manage reporting with partners, advisors, and donors
  • Develop annual impact report

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Background in non-profit or impact oriented organizations or natural products CPG preferred

This is a part time level position 2.5-3 days/week
