Director of OSC Packaging Collaborative

Mid-Level
Other
OSC is looking for an innovative, action-oriented director to oversee the strategy, programs, and Member relationships for its Packaging Collaborative. This is a part-time contractor position. We have developed solutions-based work streams that outline and address current and future packaging challenges, and host quarterly meetings that bring our members together to share challenges, opportunities, and ideas for collaboration. As the Director, you will develop authentic relationships with our members and partners, lead the strategy development to deliver industry guidance and tools to solve systems level challenges for sustainable packaging and accelerate the transition to a circular material economy.

The Packaging Collaborative Director will work closely with the Executive Director, Packaging Advisory Board and the Packaging Collaborative’s Project Manager, OSC team and members to identify opportunities to drive impact, then take action with the team and our Members to implement them. This person will be a coach to help Members access resources for sustainable packaging solutions and make peer connections to drive progress, and will build relationships to identify the biggest barriers our Members are facing when it comes to implementing, communicating, and advocating for sustainable packaging. Many of our Members are engaging in advocacy efforts across the country in support of transparency, and the Director takes an active role in supporting their efforts. This person will also continue to build and manage an all-star advisory board to work on addressing systems-level challenges including infrastructure, packaging policy, and consumer education. In addition, this person may bring on fellows and students for business school and environmental team projects.

The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset, a passion for social justice and sustainability, and experience strategizing and implementing high-level program initiatives. This position will start at 16-20 hours a week, and is a contracted position. There is room to grow with this position - our Collaborative has seen growth in both members and programs over the past few years, and we’re looking for someone to manage existing programs and continue to build value and deliver impact on sustainable packaging solutions in the CPG Community.
