Starting Wage

$37.59/hour

Location

On-site at headquarters in Vista, CA.

Schedule

1st Shift from 5:00 AM to 1:40 PM (Monday through Friday) with occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), vision systems, and computer-controlled devices.
  • Uses strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting production issues, while minimizing downtime.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, following written schedules and procedures.
  • Performs PLC and Human Machine Interface (HMI) troubleshooting using AB-Rockwell and Siemens software.
  • Calibrates tank level transducers, differential pressures, temperature transducers, and flow meters.
  • Performs routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit dose packaging equipment.
  • Assists with the assembly of mechanical device startups and complete systems according to blueprints and written/verbal specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates with vendors and order materials, machine components and parts.
  • Keeps records, schedules, and coordinates calibration services with production management as needed.
  • Provide tasks and project status reports to Automation management.
  • Generate and follow up Purchase Orders (PO's) and Expenditure Request (ERF) as needed.
  • Maintains and organizes spare parts inventory.
  • Creates preventive maintenance programs to optimize and maintain equipment.
  • Creates Work Instructions (WI's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Trains production operators/ employees as appropriate for set-ups, operation of equipment, etc.
  • Assists with training of Automation Technicians under the instruction given by Automation Supervisors.
  • Responsible for safety compliance personally and with equipment.
  • Participates in special projects and/or rebuilds.
  • Meets annual training and continued education requirements set by Automation management
  • Other duties as assigned within job scope.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience in the Automation/Engineering field performing maintenance on industrial/commercial equipment, or related work.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring and operating principles of motors.
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as electric motors, pumps, mixers, valves, PLC's, HMI's, Pneumatic Systems, Flowmeters, Level & Temperature Transmitters, and other mechanical devices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of tools including multimeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, and testing equipment; soldering iron; hand and power tools; light truck or van; scissor lift, forklift, pallet jack, and articulating boom lift.
  • Must possess/obtain forklift and pallet jack certifications.
